BCBG Kicks Off NYFW

Cotton Sleeveless Trench
Grand finale: Black silk tulle embroidered with beading and lace
For days the fashion world has been buzzing about what to expect from this years New York fashion week but finally the wait is over! Fashion week officially began at this morning at Lincoln Center with the BCBG Max Azria show. Celebrities like Heidi Klum and Olivia Palermo sat front row to see what Max Azria had in store for Spring.

The natural-looking models hit the run way in menswear inspired looks. The collection mainly consisted of light weight fabrics such as cotton, linen, and chiffon and used pales blues, whites, and floral prints all perfect for the spring/summer season.

Watercolor Florals
The designers Max and Lubov Azria seemed to expand on there well received resort 2014 collection by tying in bohemian silhouettes with menswear tailoring. One of the most popular looks on the runway was "High-waisted wide-leg white pants, paired with a cropped tuxedo-style cotton twill shirt; and an asymmetrical, crisp white snake-embossed skirt worn with a boxy, soft linen jacket"

Mrs. Azria seemed very pleased with her collection and talked about her design style 'Our design approach has always been about deconstructing and reconstructing garments"

Reed Karkoff to Leave Coach

Reed Karkoff
After almost 16 amazing years at Coach, Reed Karkoff has officially announced that he will be leaving Coach in June of 2014. Karkoff has always had a close relationship withe Coach's chief executive and together they have really transformed the brand into a chic label that every women can wear.

Coachella Style

Kenzo Maxi Dress
Coachella is this weekend! Along with being California's biggest and most popular music festival its also an amazing time for style watching and shows what the upcoming trends will be. Here are some of my picks for laid-back Coachella looks.
Top Shop Romper
Depending on the weather a dress is the perfect look for Coachella. Some dress trends I am expecting to see are bold patterns, maxi dresses, and denim! I think rompers are also a perfect for the Indie themed festival.
Two piece looks are definitely a "go to" look for the annual music festival. I think we will be seeing a lot of bold patterned crop tops, tie front blouses, knit tanks, and stylish muscle tees.
At Coachella anything goes so I think people will be wearing all sorts of bottoms. Mini skits, maxi skirts, leather shorts, embroidered shorts, denim shorts, printed denim...the options are endless.
Joe's Snake Print Jeans
Alberto Fermani Boots
The accessories are really what take an outfit from average to bohemian chic. In terms of shoes its all about boots! Whether they're ankle, mid calf, or over the knee they all work. For a bag, a cross body bag is perfect for this type of event. Then add a statement pair of sunglasses and stack some bracelets and you are ready for Coachella!

Top 5 Beauty Trends For Spring!

Spring is finally here (even though it doesn't feel like it outside)! Although I love spring for so many reasons my favorite thing about any season change are the trends that follow with it! Here are my picks for the top 5 beauty trends this spring:

1) BB Cream
Whether its Maybeline or Bobbi Brown all major makeup companies have introduced BB Cream's to their line of products within the last year. I personally use Bobbi Brown's BB Cream and absolutely love it! I use to use their tinted moisturizer but love the BB Cream because it gives more coverage and is much more moisturizing.
Kourtney Kardashain with Pink Lips!

2) Statement Lip
Whether its tangerine, red, or fuchsia a statement lip is the perfect accessory to every look. Statements lips were on repeat at almost every fashion show for Fall 2013 which makes them just that much more in style for spring. Everyone loves bright colors for spring!

3) Pastel Eye Shadows and Liners
Nude Nails
With spring here light pastel shadows are a must. When you have a bright lip its good to to make that the star of the look and not compete with a dramatic eye. Keep it light and fresh!

4) Nude Nails
It's not winter anymore so for spring nude is the new black! Not only is it classic and simple but you can't tell when it chips! One of my personal favorites is OPI Tickle My France-y.

Cara Delevigne

5) Bold Brows
Cara Delevingne graced the runways of every major designer at this season Fashion Weeks in almost every country. She has become the new "it" model for her quirky personality and gorgeous face. She has re-defined the idea of beauty with her gorgeous bushy brows.

PFW: Chanel

Chanel Runway

Fur Helmets
Paris fashion week is a time when the most prestigious designers come together to show the world there newest collections and Chanel is by far the most popular and anticipated show every season. Karl Lagerfeld introduce his latest creations to the fashionistas on March 5th under a ornate glass ceiling, at the Grand Palais. The beautiful round runway had a gigantic globe in the center with tiny Chanel flags marking where the brand is sold.
The look that Chanel gave this season was sporty chic. Lagerfeld worked Coco Chanel's classic and timeless designs into pieces that have definitely been on trend with what we have already seen from fashion week, such as oversized coats and chunky knit sweaters. Chanel is famous for their signature tweed jackets and Lagerfeld gave a modern twist on this look for the latest show. He remade the classic tweed jacket into a fringe tunic that was worn over a hoodie that gave it a modern and edgy look. He also did a longer version of the tweed jacket and put patches of the tweed fabric onto jeans. In terms of accessories the models, who wore fur helmets and glittery eye make up, carried oversized quilted leather clutches and lego like clothes (which were popular bags carried by people throughout fashion week) and chain-decorated biker boots were definitely the shoe of choice!
Overall I was pleased with Lagerfeld's newest collection! Although it wasn't as breathtaking as some of his recent collections he had some great commercial pieces that will keep Chanel fans coming back for more!

Best and Worst of 2013 Oscars!

Jessica Chastain in Armani Prive

The Oscars Red Carpet is by far my favorite TV event of the year! Its the time when the stars bring out all the stops in hopes to land on the best dressed list. This year year I was not as blown away by the fashion and glamour and the carpet as I have been is past years. However, there were still some absolutely amazing and memorable looks!
Anne Hathaway in Prada
In terms of best dressed I think that Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence, and Naomi Watts were all standouts. Jessica Chastain wore a beautiful Armani Prive beaded dress in a beautiful flesh tone. Her look oozed Hollywood Glamour with with her beautiful pin waves and red lips. It was the perfect look for a best actress nominee. Jennifer Lawrence looked absolutely stunning in her pale pink Dior Couture dress. She complimented the look with a classic but modern undo and wore a beautiful diamond chain draped down her back which gave the outfit a younger look, since she is only 22! She made such a statement in the dress and was a perfect choice for the oscar winner to wear. Naomi Watts wore a gorgeous custom asymmetrical gunmetal dress also designed by Armani Prive. Metallic, especially shades of silver were definitely a trend on this years carpet. All three best actress nominees looked like absolute stars and deserve recognition for their fashion choices as they do for their acting!
In terms of worst dressed my picks have to be Anne Hathaway and Renee Zellweger. Anne Hathaway was confirmed to be wearing Valentino and last minute changed her mind and decided to wear a pale pink Prada dress. Although the look was very on trend with the other pieces Prada showed in their Fall 2013 collection but the dress seemed uninspired and was definitely not something that a nominee should of worn. Although Renee Zellweger was only a presenter her look was still all over the place, which matched her behavior during the award show. She wore a metallic look that was custom made for her by Carolina Herrera. Although the dress itself was pretty it did not flatter her and the jewelry and bag did not go with the look at all and her hair looked messy and unfinished.

Overall the 85th Annual Academy Awards delivered, as it always does, giving us looks that we will remember for years.
